As an alternative to Gas Heating for Swim Spas, you may like to consider a Heat Pump to warm the water. They are very simple devices that are easy and affordable to install.
How does it work?
Using the latest technology, these pumps basically use electricity to capture heat and move it from one place to another, rather than generate it itself.
The pump features a fan that sucks warm air in from the atmosphere and then passes it through it’s internal piping system that is filled with a refrigerant. That warm air causes the refrigerant to rapidly heat up which then causes the air to be passed through into the pool water. Throughout this process the pool water is being constantly circulated from the pool, into the heat pump and then back into the swimming pool.
Depending on how cool the outside air is, the more energy these pumps will use. However, since majority of pool owners use their outdoor swimming pools during the warmer months of the year, this would not be an issue.
Benefits of Heat Pump Heating:
- Very low noise level
- Energy efficient without compromising heating performance
- Able to raise water temperature fast
- Environmentally friendly
- Reliable to operate regardless of the weather
- Low installation and running costs
- Long life expectancy
